It sounds counterintuitive but I used to post with no hashtags and now I'm applying 5-7 to each post and my engagement rate has significantly decreased. Would hashtags on facebook be considered “spammy” and punished by the algorithm? I'm using the boostbysocial analytics and the decrease coincided with when I began adding them in. Has anyone else had this happen or do I think there's a correlation?
