I have been researching publishers in Houston TX for a first book, and I am realizing there is more to consider than just submitting a manuscript. How do authors usually compare timelines, editing, distribution, and contract terms? What warning signs should someone look for before agreeing to anything? I would especially value honest experiences from writers who have worked with publishers recently and can share what they learned during the process.
