oneplus 13r phone's design is intended to be the cheaper sibling of the OnePlus 13 and the two are far more similar than you'd think. They both have a large 120Hz refresh rate in addition to their 6.8" screens, and a large 6,000mAh battery, making them pretty tough. This model packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset whereas the flagship will be powered by the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite. Most everyone won't notice the difference between the two as they will be both very fast in everyday use and in games. The distinctions are in the details. OnePlus 13 offers a better QHD+ display, Hasselblad camera system and enhanced water resistance (IP68, IP69). The resolution of the oneplus 13r screen isn't quite as high, the camera system is not Hasselblad, it's IP65 rated, meaning it can still repel dust and splashes, but isn't waterproof. You're also getting a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide, with many reviewers finding it to be a good buy, but not the best for photography. The price is the most crucial thing to consider. The price of the 13R was announced in the US at USD 600, while the OnePlus 13 was launched at USD 900 with the same specifications. That's a significant difference and many buyers aren't willing to sacrifice that much to receive the rest of the price. Both have identical software support, a four-year period for operating system update and six years for security update. So it's all flags and no hardships: If it's the best camera you want, the best water protection and wireless charging you want, you want the flagships. If you are looking for more of the same in terms of performance and battery life but don't want the price tag, choose the oneplus 13r phone.
